Contemporary Garden Room – Wiltshire

This 1890’s ‘Tudorbethan’ house occupies a prominent position on one of the main routes into the town but has a stunning garden overlooking the water meadows to the rear. The extension replaces a very ordinary glazed conservatory and transforms an existing extension to create a unified, contemporary form across the back of the house. Reflecting the strong aesthetic of the existing house the new addition creates clear horizontal lines with the eaves and uses a carefully selected brick with lime mortar to work in sympathy with its Edwardian host.
